Lorazepam Infusion May Cause Propylene Glycol Accumulation

Critically ill adults receiving continuous infusions of lorazepam may accumulate propylene glycol (PG), causing a hyperosmolar anion gap metabolic acidosis, according to the results of a prospective trial published in the August issue of Critical Care Medicine.
